The dome tweeter is the most popular treble unit in speaker building: its dome-shaped diaphragm gives wide dispersion and a smooth response, and it integrates easily with most mid-woofers. Diameters typically range from 19 to 38 mm.
Fabric and silk domes are soft and easy to listen to, metal domes (aluminium, titanium, beryllium) are faster and more detailed, and ceramic and diamond are the top tier. A larger dome can be crossed lower, while a smaller one disperses more widely in the top octave.
